Our
Story
Why It Matters
Depression and anxiety are issues that require greater awareness and visibility to create better opportunities and allow for personal growth and development.
People all over the world struggle with mental illness. On a more local scale, according to data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), over 50% of the US population grapples with mental health challenges, with a significant portion—63%—comprising young adults.
Despite the widespread prevalence of mental illness, a pervasive stigma persists, casting a shadow of shame and silence over those experiencing psychological distress. This stigma, deeply ingrained from early childhood and perpetuated into young adult and adult life, serves as a barrier to seeking and receiving vital support and resources. With this stress, focusing on the more positive aspects of life can be difficult. This can be detrimental to self-esteem and affect behavior in negative ways.
